Omari Issa speaks at Columbia

Omari Issa spoke on ““The Learning Generation: A discussion of the U.N. Education Commission's ideas for increasing investment in global educational opportunity”, on Thursday, September 21

The event started with an overview of the Education Commission’s work by Dr. Liesbet Steer, Director of the International Commission on Financing Global Education Opportunity.

Omari Issa is the Chief Executive Officer of the Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete Foundation. He has extensive business experience in the public and private sectors, having worked in Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. In January 2017, Omari was appointed Chief Advisor to the United Nations Education Commission and in March 2017 he was appointed CEO of the Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete Foundation.
