CDEP Co-Director Eric Verhoogen participated in a panel on "The Changing Landscape of Development Economics" with Rema Hanna, Emily Breza, and Nobel Laureate Esther Duflo, moderated by Mushfiq Mobarak, at the 2024 Meeting of the North-East Universities Development Consortium (NEUDC), one of the leading conference in development economics. Among the points he made in the wide-ranging discussion were that there's a need for research on what works in industrial policy in developing countries and that studying the micro-economics of firm behavior is a promising direction for the field.
