Mariel Bedoya

Mariel Bedoya is a Ph.D. candidate in the Economics and Education program at Columbia University’s Teachers College. Her research lies at the intersection of labor economics, health, education, and public policy, focusing on how early-career service shapes professionals’ long-term decisions. Her recent work examines the effects of mandatory rural health service in Peru on psychology graduates’ career choices and community health outcomes. Another project applies natural language processing tools to study how changes in public school curricula influence schooling decisions in Peru.
